Matt + Nicole
Montpellier de Tulbagh
So blessed that I could have been part of Matt and Nicole’s amazing day in the lovely town of Tulbach.
This lovely couple is from Hermanus and was great to “host” them here in the Winelands!
They are a real down to earth couple without “fieterjasies”. He reminded me of Harvey Spectre from Suits and she oozed class and beauty.
What a lekker day
MontPellier De Tulbach is believed to be named after the city of Montpellier in France, reflecting the French Huguenot influence in the region. The Huguenots were French Protestants who fled religious persecution in the late 17th century and settled in the Cape Colony, bringing with them viticultural expertise.
During the Dutch colonial period, the area of Tulbagh was part of the land granted to European settlers by the Dutch East India Company. The fertile soils and favorable climate made it suitable for agriculture, including vineyards.
Over the 18th and 19th centuries, Montpellier de Tulbagh developed as a significant agricultural estate. The introduction of advanced farming techniques and the establishment of vineyards contributed to its growth. The estate became known for its wine production, with its wines gaining recognition over time.
Today, Montpellier de Tulbagh is recognized as a premier wine estate in the Tulbagh region. It offers a range of wines and has diversified into hospitality, providing accommodations and hosting events such as weddings and wine tastings.
I personally love this wedding venue. Not only do they provide amazing service but there are many locations to get amazing wedding images.
