How long do you stay at the event?
As long as you need. Most corporate functions and award ceremonies run on a half-day (four hours) or full-day (eight hours) booking. Multi-day conferences are quoted per day, with reduced rates from day two onward. I cover from arrival of the first guests through the key speeches, awards or moments — whatever the brief calls for.
When will I get the photos?
Standard delivery is a fully edited online gallery within seven working days. If you need a curated social-media set sooner — for next-morning posts, press releases, or sponsor reporting — I include a 48-hour preview set in every booking at no extra cost.
Do you offer same-day or on-site delivery?
Yes, for an additional fee. For high-stakes events (product launches, ministerial visits, awards going to media the same night), I bring a tethered laptop and deliver an edited selection within hours. Discuss this in advance so I can quote and prep.
How do you handle low light at conferences and venues?
Conferences and award ceremonies are lit for the audience, not the photographer. I shoot with fast prime lenses on professional bodies that handle high ISO cleanly, and I work without flash on the floor 95% of the time so I am not distracting speakers or guests. Flash is reserved for posed shots and red-carpet moments where it is expected.
Do you coordinate with our event coordinator and AV team?
Always — and it is part of the value. Before the event I touch base with your event coordinator (or AV provider) to confirm the run sheet, key moments, branded backdrop locations, restricted areas, and timing for any group shots. On the day I check in on arrival and stay quietly in the loop with the production team. I have worked enough Cape Town venues to know how to slot in without getting in the way.
Which Cape Town venues do you work at regularly?
The CTICC and Century City conference venues for corporate events; Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine estates for awards and gala dinners; Cape Town hotels (One&Only, The Westin, The Mount Nelson, Cape Grace) for product launches and corporate functions; and most major event venues across the Western Cape. If your venue is not familiar to me, I will do a virtual or in-person walk-through ahead of the event.
Can you bring a second photographer?
For larger events — multi-room conferences, gala evenings with multiple key moments running in parallel, or weddings-style functions — a second shooter is often the right call. I work with a small group of trusted second photographers I have used for years. Add-on rates are quoted per booking.
How do we book?
Send me a message with the date, venue, event type and approximate guest numbers. I will come back with availability and a quote within 24 hours. A 30% deposit secures the date; balance is due on event day or shortly after. Contracts are short and plain-English — no surprises.
