Each year I photograph Matrics across Durbanville, the Northern Suburbs, Stellenbosch, Camps Bay and surrounding areas, capturing individual portraits, couple photos, family photos and group shots before the big night.

What’s included in a Matric Farewell photoshoot

A Matric Farewell photo shoot session with me typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours.

You will receive a minimum of 100 high-resolution photos delivered via a WeTransfer link.

You can book a session individually or with your partner, or team up with other couples to share the 2-hour session and split the costs.

During a session I like to spend some time taking individual portraits of the matrics.
I am well aware that 99% of people do not have modelling experience so it is my guide to help them look their best with regards to posing and getting them relaxed and confident.
I also bring lighting to allow us to shoot in ANY environment.

Matric Farewell couple photos

Sometimes we take our boyfriend or girlfriend to our school event, sometimes a good friend or even a blind date. Whatever the case let me know the exact situation and I will make sure to get the appropriate photos.

Can we do groupshots?

Family plays a big part in South Africans lives and this is a perfect time to get some beautiful family portraits as part of the photo session. We can do big groups as well as smaller combinations.

Family photos at your Matric Farewell

This is the ideal opportunity to capture beautiful group shots with the whole family—grandparents, parents, and kids. We can also create smaller combinations, such as siblings, cousins, or just the parents. For a fun, celebratory touch, feel free to bring along some sparkling wine or juice to enjoy during the shoot.

Most Matrics get ready at home, which makes it a natural starting point for photos. From there, we can either continue at the house or move to another location for a different look.

Group & friends photos

IF you are a group we can also do some groups shots of you with your friends.
It can be combination of smaller and larger groups.
Girls only, Boys only etc and even add in some sparkling wine or juice!

Matric Farewell car photos

If you are renting a car lets make sure that we get some cool shots with the car!

Locations for Matric Farewell photos in Cape Town

This is normally one of the headaches for my clients but I will give some advice.

Clients arrange locations. Depending on their circumstance it would be at their house, friend’s house, winefarm or other location.

In Stellenbosch, Camps Bay and Blouberg I have some scenic locations that I can suggest that are safe, practical and free.

Being a Matric Farewell photographer based in Durbanville means I understand the best local spots, estate homes and wine farm venues in the Northern Suburbs. I regularly photograph Matrics in Pinehurst, Vierlanden, Sonstraal and Aurora, making the process smooth and stress-free for families.

Unfortunately the Northern Suburbs are limited in scenic public spaces.

Here are some options that I know of. You would have to check them out. Obviously I cannot guarantee anything in terms of safety, availability and what it will look like when we shoot but at least it is a starting point:

Matric Farewell Photography Pricing

There are two different options for Northern Suburb (Cape Town) available.
For the rest of the Western Cape I only have “2 hour options”

2 Hour option

The fee is R4500 per session.

Your R4500 session fee includes up to 2 Hours of shooting, my travel to and from the session site (Cape Town, Peninsula, Northern Suburbs).
You are more than welcome to split the costs between a few couples
I would suggest NOT more than four couples as won’t get through all the photos

It is very important that we organise it well and that everyone is on time to make sure we get the best shots possible

** Travel fee may be added to certain locations.

1 Hour option

The fee is R2500 per session.

Your R2500 session fee includes up to 1 Hour of shooting, my travel to and from the session.

I suggest this only if you are one couple with family.
We can fit in two couples but then it is going to be very tight. so in a case like again it is very important to make sure there is good organisation and time management.

** Please note this option is only available for shoots in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town

Q. How far in advance should we book our Matric Farewell photographer in Cape Town or Durbanville?

A. It’s best to book as soon as you have a confirmed date and time. Due to the busy Matric season, schools in the Northern Suburbs often schedule their farewells in the same week. This means that availability is limited, and I can only handle up to two sessions per day. Therefore, the earlier you reach out, the better your chances of securing your preferred time slot.

Q. Do you travel outside Durbanville?

A. Yes! I cover the Northern Suburbs, Cape Town, the Southern Suburbs, and the Winelands. This means that no matter where you are in the Western Cape, I can come to you and ensure a smooth and enjoyable photoshoot.

Q. What happens if the weather is bad?

A. If it rains, we can often use indoor locations at your home or wine farm venues that have sheltered spots. This ensures we can still get beautiful photos without worrying about the weather.

Q. Do you also photograph Matric Dance photos?

A. No, Matric Dance photos are typically arranged by the schools themselves. My focus is on capturing your individual and family moments before the event.

Q. Can we include family and friends in the photos?

A. Absolutely! Matric Farewell photoshoots include family portraits, group shots, and friend combinations. You can capture grandparents, parents, siblings, cousins, or even just your closest friends.

Q. How long does a Matric Farewell photoshoot take?

A. Sessions are typically 1–2 hours, depending on whether you’re booking individually, as a couple, or with a group of friends. We can also split a 2-hour session between a few couples to make it more affordable.

A. Your edited high-resolution photos are delivered within 3 days via WeTransfer, ready to print, share, or post online.
