Yes — the Mini Shoot is R2,950 for one hour at a single Durbanville location. It is built for families who want a handful of beautiful images without a full session.

Every package, Mini through Full Day, includes all usable photos with no cutoff, a full professional edit, both high-res and web-sized files, and delivery within 7 days.

Soft, coordinated tones photograph best — think neutrals, muted colours and textures rather than busy prints or big logos. We will go through exactly what works for your family, and where, in your pre-session brief.

Sometimes, but they are not required — a blanket, a favourite toy, or a bicycle can add a nice personal touch, but your family is always the focus.

A mix. I like a few classic posed frames for the wall, but most of the session is relaxed and directed rather than stiffly posed — walking, playing, talking to each other. Here is how that plays out on the day:

Cape Town weather can change quickly, especially in winter. If it looks doubtful, I will be in touch beforehand to reschedule — no charge for weather-related changes.

Both — I will guide you into natural positions and give you something to do, like walk, chat, or tickle the kids, rather than asking you to stand and smile.

Genuinely, this is normal, and I plan for it — a session is not 2 hours of posing, it is built around play, movement, and short bursts of attention.

Usually early morning or the last two hours before sunset, known as golden hour, for the softest light and the coolest temperatures for young kids.

Most families book the 2-hour Standard Session. That does not mean 2 hours of nonstop shooting — we build in breaks, snack stops, and settling-in time, especially with younger children.

Three main zones, each with a different feel: the Atlantic Seaboard (Camps Bay, Sea Point, Green Point) for beaches and iconic views; the Winelands (Stellenbosch) for vineyards and oak-lined streets; and the Southern Suburbs (Blouberg, Big Bay) for wide open beaches and Table Mountain views.

Yes — if you have a spot that means something to you, like your garden, a favourite park, or home, we can shoot there instead. We will confirm it works for light and access in your pre-session brief.

Yes, within reason — surrounding areas are included, and further afield (like Stilbaai) can be arranged. Get in touch and I will confirm travel costs, if any.

There is no fixed number or cutoff — you get every usable photo from the session that meets my editing standard. For a 2-hour session that is typically 80–120 images.

Yes — every delivered photo comes as both a full-resolution file for printing and a compressed, web-ready JPG for sharing online, in the same download.

There is not really a bad age — every stage has its own charm. Toddlers (2–4) are curious and expressive if we keep it playful and short; from about 6 upward, kids can follow simple direction, which makes for a wider variety of shots. We adjust the pace to your kids either way.
