Commercial Video Photographer Cape Town

Short-form commercial video for businesses, brand stories, product launches, event highlights and corporate testimonials — Cape Town and Western Cape.

Honest scope upfront: my video equipment is intentionally lean. I shoot strong, focused single-camera pieces — roughly 30 seconds to 5 minutes — extremely well. For complex multi-camera productions, gimbal-heavy choreography, or scripted narrative work — I refer to a specialist videographer with a full kit. No hidden upselling; you get the right person for the brief.

Commercial video rates

Pricing has two parts: the shoot day and the edit. Both are baked into the rate above. The “first in series” higher rate covers one-off setup costs (concept, locations scouted, brand alignment) which then carry over to subsequent videos at the lower repeat rate.

What works well on this kit

  • Brand stories — single-subject founder/CEO interview, B-roll of the team and workspace, voiceover-style edit
  • Product launches — hero product shots, founder voiceover, key feature B-roll
  • Event highlight reels — conferences, awards, corporate functions — short-form recap of the day
  • Corporate testimonials — interview a happy client, B-roll of their environment, simple cut
  • Behind-the-scenes for marketing — short pieces showing how something is made, day-in-the-life of a team
  • Service explainers — 3-minute “how this works” videos for a B2B service or SaaS product

What I refer to a specialist videographer

Briefs that need a fuller kit and a video-first specialist:

  • Multi-camera shoots — interviews with multiple angles, panel discussions, live event coverage with different cameras simultaneously
  • Heavy gimbal choreography — long tracking shots, complex movement, drone-and-ground synchronised work
  • Scripted narrative / TV-commercial style — actor direction, scripted scenes, set design
  • Long-form (10+ minute) documentary work — the editing scale changes significantly past about 5 minutes
  • High-budget brand films — typically R50,000+ projects need a video-first studio with sound recordists, gaffers, the works

I have a few trusted referrals for these. You’d book them directly — no markup, no coordination fee from my side.

Selected Commercial Video Work

These examples show the short-form work I produce for businesses in Cape Town: brand interviews, corporate stories, event highlights and social reels. Each project is planned around where the finished video needs to work — a website, presentation, LinkedIn campaign or social feed.

Exhibition coverage · Social reel

CTICC Exhibition Coverage

Exhibitors need useful content while an event is still relevant. This example combines exhibition-floor photography with a concise social reel that captures the stand, the people and the energy of the CTICC environment.

Built for: websites, LinkedIn, event recaps and fast social publishing.

Personal brand · Interview

eXp Realty Agent Brand Story

An eXp Realty agent wanted a story-led video for digital marketing rather than another property listing. The controlled interview setup, branded blue background and guided delivery create a professional piece that still feels personal.

Built for: personal-brand websites, social media and real-estate marketing.

Corporate story · Infrastructure

Lease My Land / Global Towers

This one-minute corporate piece explains the work of a telecommunications-infrastructure business without turning the message into a long presentation. A focused structure and supporting visuals make the company easier to understand quickly.

Built for: company websites, stakeholder presentations and B2B marketing.

Corporate event · Highlight film

Pescatech Staff Event

Pescatech’s end-of-year function called for a relaxed recap that preserved the atmosphere and the people behind the company. The short edit gives the business a useful internal memory and an authentic culture piece for future marketing.

Built for: company culture, recruitment, internal sharing and social media.

Common questions

Why is the first video in a series more expensive?
One-off setup costs — concept work, location scouting, brand alignment, audio levels, edit-style decisions. Once that’s sorted, subsequent videos in the same brief use the same setup and come back to the lower rate.

What’s the turnaround on a video?
Shoot day plus 7-14 working days for the edit. Larger or more complex briefs longer — agreed upfront.

Do you do raw footage delivery?
Same as commercial photo: no — finished, edited deliverable only. The edit is the value.

What format do I get?
MP4 H.264 at 1080p or 4K depending on the brief. Optimised for social, web, and presentation playback. Specific aspect ratios (9:16 vertical for IG/TikTok, 1:1 square for feed) quoted on request.

Do you do drone video?
No — same as still photography, no commercial drone licence. I refer out.

Can I get photos AND video on the same shoot day?
Yes — usually quoted as a combined brief. Cleaner pricing if you want both.

Quoted on the brief — usually within a working day.
