CTICC Photographer Cape Town
Conference stages, exhibition floors, gala dinners — the full spectrum of what happens inside Cape Town's biggest event venue, covered by a specialist who knows it.
Get a QuoteCape Town's Premier Event Venue
The CTICC hosts everything from a 50-person board summit to a 10,000-delegate mining conference — sometimes in the same week. Two convention centres, multiple halls, a ballroom, and an exhibition floor that reconfigures for every event. Knowing the building matters: where the natural light falls, which halls have stage lighting that affects exposure, how to move efficiently between the conference auditorium and the exhibition floor without missing key moments.
I’ve been photographing events at the CTICC since 2018. That experience means less time lost to venue logistics and more time on what actually produces great images — for organisers, speakers, and exhibitors alike.
Events I've Covered at the CTICC
A selection of events I've photographed at the CTICC over the years. If yours isn't on this list, get in touch — the brief is almost always similar.
Africa's leading mining investment conference. Four packed days on Level 5 — keynotes, exhibition floor, and evening galas.
Energy and Electricity World Africa. Keynotes, expo floor, networking breaks, and evening galas across multiple days.
Construction and infrastructure. High-footfall exhibition halls, product demos, and trade floor networking.
Manufacturing and automation technology. Dense exhibition floor, technical product demonstrations, specialist delegates.
Southern Africa's largest travel trade show. Stand coverage, brand presence, and buyer-seller networking.
Board presentations, strategy days, and closed-audience leadership events. Formal coverage, handled with discretion.
What Gets Photographed at the CTICC
Whether you're the conference organiser, a keynote speaker, or a brand on the exhibition floor — the brief is different every time. I cover all of it.
Stage presence, audience response, panel dynamics — the full session arc from first slide to applause.
Your brand's presence on the floor — stand structure, team, visitors, and product demos, from setup to peak traffic.
The unscripted moments between sessions. Often the most commercially useful images in the entire set.
Formal coverage from cocktail arrivals through to award handover, speeches, and the post-dinner atmosphere.
Product reveals, demo stations, and brand experience moments captured for press and marketing use.
Smaller-format sessions that are easy to overlook but matter to delegates, speakers, and event reports.
Your Stand, Documented Properly
Half the events at the CTICC include an exhibition floor. If your company has a stand — whether it’s 9 square metres or a full island build — professional images serve your marketing long after the show has closed.
Here’s what exhibition coverage at the CTICC looks like in practice.
What I Cover on the Exhibition Floor
Stand photography is the core brief — with floor, networking, and activation coverage as required.
Architecture, signage, and backdrops photographed before the crowds arrive — clean, well-composed brand shots.
Conversations, demos, handshakes — the human side of your stand, documented candidly.
Technical demos and product reveals captured clearly, with enough context to show scale and engagement.
Branded experiences, giveaways, and activation points documented for sponsors, clients, and post-show reports.
Corridor conversations, badge exchanges, and spontaneous meetings. The floor is as important as the stand.
15–20 images edited and delivered same day for social media use. Post before the show has even closed. Add-on: R1,200.
Add an On-Site Headshot Booth
Trade shows are one of the few occasions when your whole team is together, well-dressed, and in front of a professional backdrop. A branded headshot booth on your stand turns 15 minutes per person into a year’s worth of updated LinkedIn profiles. Popular add-on for exhibition briefs — ask about it when enquiring.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes — Mining Indaba runs across four days; Enlit Africa and Big 5 Construct typically run two to three. Multi-day packages are available. We agree on a day-by-day brief upfront and I can cover the full event arc, or focus on specific days if budget requires it.
Yes. Most CTICC events run a conference programme and an exhibition floor simultaneously. A single booking can cover both — we agree on the priority split upfront (for example, 60% conference / 40% exhibition floor) and I manage the movement between the two throughout the day.
The CTICC is Zone 2 from Durbanville. Travel is a flat R350 per booking day, added to the package rate. No surprises — it’s confirmed in your quote before you book.
Yes. The same-day social edit is an add-on at R1,200. I’ll deliver 15–20 edited images via digital channel by end of the event day — ready to post before the show has even closed. Full delivery (all usable images, fully edited) follows within up to three working days.
Via digital channel download link — high-resolution originals plus web/social-sized JPGs in separate folders. Turnaround is 48 hours from the end of the shoot. For multi-day events we discuss delivery timing per day at briefing.
The CTICC has on-site parking. During large events like Mining Indaba the parking can fill quickly — I factor in setup time and aim to arrive 30 minutes before briefed start time. For same-day social edit bookings this is especially important, so we confirm a briefing time in advance.
