This is especially powerful during group photos, which can often feel stiff or awkward. One of my favourite “ice-breaker” moments is during the big group shot:
I’ll get all the guests together, ask the couple to kiss for 10 seconds while everyone counts down from 10 to 0, and at zero—everyone cheers, claps, throws hands in the air.
Suddenly the awkwardness disappears. People laugh, the energy lifts, and the expressions become real. Sometimes there are funny reactions from the groomsmen, some shenanigans from the bridal party, and genuine joy all around.
These are the photos that couples look back on years later and still smile.
