Hudson’s at Vredenheim is set on a working wine estate just outside Stellenbosch on the road towards Somerset West. The venue occupies a collection of old farm buildings — stone walls, wooden beams, wraparound stoeps — with the Helderberg mountains visible across the valley.
Bryan and Candice married here on an autumn afternoon when the vineyards were turning gold. The venue’s relaxed farm character suited the day perfectly: no unnecessary formality, good food, and a crowd that was genuinely happy to be there.
Hudson’s has strong bones for photography. The old buildings give you interesting architecture and shadow play, the estate grounds provide open space for natural-light portraiture, and the mountain backdrop closes out the horizon in every direction.
