Lothian Vineyards is tucked into the Robertson wine valley, about two hours east of Cape Town through the Huguenot Tunnel and up the Breede River corridor. It’s quieter out here than the Stellenbosch circuit — the landscape is wider, the light is different, and the pace of a wedding day tends to slow down in a good way.

Alistair and Amanda had their celebration here on a warm summer’s day when the vineyards were in full leaf. The property has a relaxed farm-style feel — exposed beams, stone walls, and long views over the Robertson valley towards the Langeberg mountains.

It’s worth considering if you want some distance from the Winelands crowd while still being in genuine wine country.
