As a wedding photographer one of my favourite parts of the day is confetti. We see so many different types of confetti but I were curious to know where does this come from.
Confetti has been used in weddings to symbolise good luck and happiness for the couple for hundreds of years. Its origins can be traced back to Ancient Rome, where small sweets and petals were thrown at newlyweds as a symbol of fertility and good fortune. Over time, the tradition evolved to include the use of colourful paper confetti. Today, it is a popular and festive addition to wedding celebrations around the world.
