Erinvale Estate Hotel sits at the foot of the Hottentots Holland mountains in Somerset West, about 40 minutes from Cape Town. It’s a classic Helderberg wine estate — manicured grounds, mountain backdrop, and a level of service that takes the logistical pressure off the couple.
Chris and Liesel’s wedding here was a full-day affair: ceremony on the estate’s outdoor terrace with the Helderberg massif filling the horizon, followed by a reception in the manor house. The venue handles both intimate and larger weddings equally well.
For photography, the location is excellent. The afternoon light comes off the mountain in long golden rays, and the estate’s mature trees and stone walls give you interesting background options throughout the day.
