My day starts with the groom — about two hours before the ceremony, and I only need thirty minutes. The trick is to be about 80% dressed when I arrive: shirt, socks and belt on, so we can photograph the last pieces — the shoes, the tie, the jacket. On a hot day, get fully dressed for the photos and take the jacket straight off again afterwards. That half-hour still leaves time for a whiskey with the boys, and I'll quietly photograph that too — the guys helping with the tie, the group shots, the last calm moment before the drive.

I know most grooms don't love being photographed. I'm a guy myself, and after 500+ grooms I know exactly how to pose you so you look like yourself — natural, masculine, never awkward. You will not look like Chandler in the engagement-photo episode. And if the bride has a gift waiting for you, tell me beforehand: that's a real moment, and I want the real reaction, not a re-enactment.

One practical note — if the groom is getting ready far from the bride, we build the driving time into your wedding day timeline so nothing gets rushed.
