Some couples book me specifically for this — not every photographer can shoot in the dark, and I genuinely love it. One honest caveat first: the venue decides a lot. If there are no lights behind you, we get black sky and my flashes. I know what I am doing either way — but fairy lights, lanterns or a glowing venue in the background is what makes these frames sing.

Practically, this happens right at the end of my coverage of your day: the dance floor is open, the garter and bouquet are done, and there are twenty minutes left on the clock. I set everything up outside first — I know I am taking you away from your guests, so by the time I come and fetch you, it is ready. Ten to fifteen minutes, one or two setups, never more. That is valuable dance-floor time with your best friends, and the whole point is to get you back to them.
